Heather Chilton

I am pursuing research in planetary science with a particular interest in remote sensing. Specifically, I want to explore planetary surface characteristics and morphology to constrain underlying formation mechanisms and internal processes, notably of icy satellites and active planetary bodies.  Here at GATech, I will be taking that further and investigating Earth cryo-processes and features as  insight into icy body observations!

Previous work includes Cassini image analysis of ridges on Enceladus, simple thermal modeling of vents through low temperature ice, and even a small foray into contrast changes of Mars dark slope streaks (not the recurring slope lineae).  Additionally, I am a huge proponent of education and public outreach and am currently doing some work for the Dawn EPO team, among other things! Woo, go science!

More to come…
